What you will do

·         You prepare and conduct actuarial analyses, including loss projections and technical reserves calculations under IFRS17 for both gross and reinsurance layers for our Commercial Insurance business in Spain

·         You interact closely with the local Reserving team as well as other functions in the Spanish Business Unit and ensure smooth collaboration with the Actuarial CoE in Zurich

·         You coordinate with Finance and Accounting to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of the balance sheet and profit and loss statements

·         You provide insights into underlying performance and business implications to Finance, other business functions, and Reserving Actuaries, conducting in-depth reserving analyses on specific portfolios

·         You represent the actuarial perspective during cross-functional meetings with Commercial Insurance leaders in Spain

·         You participate in the development, automation and continuous improvement of the reserving and financial reporting processes within the Actuarial CoE

·         You ensure that processes and standards align with Zurich's internal actuarial policies and guidelines, as well as existing regulations

What you bring

  • A University degree in mathematics, physics, actuarial sciences, statistics, or a related field
  • Initial experience with reserving methods is an advantage
  • Willingness to pursue an actuarial qualification or being partly qualified as an actuary (according to local society standards)
  • Strong data management and programming skills (e.g. Python, VBA, R) are highly advantageous
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently under tight deadlines
  • A Team player with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a positive attitude
  • Fluency in English and Spanish; German and other languages is an advantage
