The position is in charge of Compliance for Coface Re and Coface Switzerland, reporting directly to the CEO of Coface Re and functionally to the Regional and Group CCO (Chief compliance officer) based in France.

Key duties and responsibilities:

The successful candidate will make sure that the Coface entities in Switzerland are conducting their business in full compliance with all national and international laws and regulations that pertain to the industry, as well as professional standards, accepted business practices, and internal standards. The main expectation will be:

Implement & Upgrade:

  • ensure regulatory monitoring and keep abreast of legal and FINMA developments
  • implement locally Regional / Group policies in accordance with Swiss Law in all compliance matters (AML/TF, international sanctions, anti-corruption, fraud, business ethics, data protection, new products, distribution channels,…);
  • be the point of contact for local Regulators and internal stakeholders.

Compliance culture and advise:

  • offer ongoing support to all staff on compliance issues
  • provide compliance advices for new products or new activities
  • expand compliance culture within the companies
  • roll-out training actions for the management and the employees.

Control & Remediate :

  • identify and evaluate the non-compliance risk in developing and improving the local compliance control system(Level 2 controls) more specifically in:
  • identifying process / control weaknesses
  • raising issues and proposing corrective solution
  • monitoring remedial actions.

Reporting :

  • communicate regulatory and compliance risk issues to senior management and to Regional/ Group CCO
  • prepare local compliance and fraud committees
  • contribute to the consolidation of compliance data at Regional / Group Levels
  • draft and report to regulatory authorities, whenever required

Profil :

The successful candidate demonstrates a significant experience in a FINMA regulated company, preferably in the insurance or reinsurance industry, has a recognised Compliance Officer position.

Job experience:

  • Strong expertise in compliance (AML/ KYC/ Sanctions, business ethics, personal data, fraud, ...)
  • Strong expertise in FINMA regulations and used in handling regulatory audits
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in compliance
  • Demonstrating personal drive and capacity to deliver results


  • Master Degree in Law or Business Administration
  • French and English fluency (written and spoken) are a must-have, German is an advantage
  • Autonomous and well-organized
  • Regular travels to Zurich area and some travels abroad
  • Knowledge of reinsurance or credit insurance regulatory specificities would be appreciated
