Manager of International Accounting

BASIC PURPOSE: Musket Europe SARL, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, specializes in commodity supply, trading and logistics and provides expertise on both a marketing and operational level. The basic purpose of this position is to manage all accounting processes related to Musket’s international operations in the Europe region and assist the Director with Financial Statement evaluation and variance analysis/explanation. This position must leverage personal knowledgebase and become a subject matter expert with regards to international accounting best practices.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise the trade settlements and cash clearing components of the periodic close process (monthly/annual)
  • Review/Approve various cash clearing, A/R, A/P and G&A journal entries for Musket Europe SARL, Musket US LLC, Musket UK Holding Company, and other related entities.
  • Review and examine the above Musket entities’ monthly financial statements; preparing periodic variance analyses with explanations for significant changes
  • Monitor the settlement transactions in Ion RightAngle to ensure accuracy/completeness
  • Review monthly balance sheet workpapers related to the areas supervised – prepare, if necessary, for the balance sheet accounts
  • Interact with internal counterparts, shifting focus effectively between commercial needs and system/accounting needs
  • Interact with external auditors to assist with completing statutory audit requirements
  • Interact with external consultants to assist with various tasks related to accounting, financial reporting policies, IT implementation, tax filings, risk reporting, etc.
  • Other duties assigned as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree, Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
  • Experience: 4-5 years’ experience in corporate accounting; energy industry & RightAngle experience a plus
  • Experience in accounting for foreign exchange and transfer pricing preferred

  • Ability to manage numerous concurring demands with tight timelines·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills·  Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Intermediate to Advanced skills in Excel.

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
